David Porter has helped students succeed in Math and Science for nearly thirty years. In addition to private tutoring, David has taught in high school, middle school and elementary school classrooms.
David Porter tutors students of all ages and all levels in physics, chemistry, and math from basic arithmetic through A.P. Statistics, A.P. Calculus, A.P. Physics and A.P. Chemistry. David conveys his love for math and science in tutoring sessions, and his students in turn enjoy their experience and grow their skills.
David also offers his own, expertly developed, SAT Prep course for the test's math section. In his course, David assesses in which content areas the student's skill set needs to be strengthened and provides plenty of problems specific to those areas. These areas refer to the College Board's main categories (Heart of Algebra, Passport to Advanced Math, Problem Solving and Data Analysis, and Additional Topics in Math) and the sub-categories. Also presented to the student are David's own tested strategies specific to out-smarting the test and saving time. David works with the student to develop an ability to work efficiently and quickly through the SAT. And, when students meet David's instruction with a little hard work, they are delighted to see their scores increase from one practice test to the other and from their first real test to the next.
